Embracing the technology
Being introduced to cutting-edge technologies such as Kobo Toolkit, camera traps, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), remote sensing, and wildlife tracking devices. The hands-on experience with these tools was instrumental in shaping my understanding of how technology can revolutionize conservation efforts. During this phase, I worked on community projects, including collecting data through Kobo, mapping the hot spot for HEC, analyzing data, and developing innovative solutions for conservation challenges in the community but also using the seed grants to facilitate my learning process on App development.
The Transition: Becoming a Project Officer
This transition marked a significant milestone in my career. As a project officer, I now lead teams, manage projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement conservation strategies on a larger scale. My responsibilities include designing project frameworks, overseeing data collection and analysis, and ensuring that our conservation goals are met effectively.
One of my proudest achievements in this role has been training the project team to collect data through the Kobo toolkit. This initiative not only provided critical data for our project but also showcased the potential of technology in conservation.
Looking ahead: Inspiring future generation
As I continue to grow in my role, I am committed to develope a user-friendly app, mentoring young women, and advocating for greater representation in conservation technology. By sharing my story, I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and break through the barriers they may face. The future of conservation depends on diverse voices and innovative solutions, and I am excited to be part of this dynamic field.
