We are proud to announce the launch of the WILDLABS Awards 2025: Supporting accessible, affordable, and effective innovation for nature.

With the support of Arm, the WILDLABS Awards support the advancement of conservation technology with $350,000 distributed across up to 15 projects. Building on our 2024 experience, we have refined the format of this year’s awards. In 2025, there will be two grant levels instead of three, with an additional grant available.

Similar to 2024, these awards will support projects for up to one year that are bridging the gap between technology and conservation. These awards are open to both technology developers building or scaling new technologies for conservation applications, and conservation practitioners and researchers leveraging existing technologies in their work. Awardees will receive tailored support for their projects, regardless of their focus. Whether you're developing new technologies, putting your expertise to use in the field, building collaborative tools and content for the global conservation tech community, or exploring cutting-edge innovations, you have the opportunity to find the support you need through the WILDLABS Awards.

What are we looking for?

There are three main types of projects that the WILDLABS Awards support:

  • Fostering Innovation (primarily for technology projects): We aim to support innovation projects grounded in solving real conservation needs. We expect these projects to test and pilot technology solutions with end-user needs that have already been identified.

  • Technology Adoption and Application (primarily for conservation projects): We aim to support conservation projects that integrate technology to broaden the reach and impact of their initiatives. We expect these projects to be led by conservation practitioners and researchers and may also involve collaborations with tech providers to improve/adapt existing tools to conservation situations. We hope the findings support the adoption of technology for other conservation projects.

  • Usability & Scaling (for conservation and technology projects): We aim to support projects that make technology more accessible and available. This means improving usability and bridging the gap between R&D projects and available technologies for conservationists to use in their work. We will also support work that transforms project ideas into products, helps scale manufacturing, and deploys already piloted technologies.

Across all project types and award categories, cross-sector collaboration and interdisciplinary work is highly encouraged.

Who is Arm?

Arm is the industry’s highest-performing and most power-efficient compute platform with unmatched scale that touches 100 percent of the connected global population. To meet the insatiable demand for compute, Arm is delivering advanced solutions that allow the world’s leading technology companies to unleash the unprecedented experiences and capabilities of AI. Together with the world’s largest computing ecosystem and 20 million software developers, we are building the future of AI on Arm.

Why is Arm a partner in these Awards?

Arm is building the future of computing. The high-performing, power-efficient Arm compute platform is now enabling advanced computing in more than 300 billion chips worldwide, securely powering products from the sensor to the smartphone, the supercomputer and leading AI-enabled devices.

Arm focuses on minimising environmental impact and maximising societal impact. Arm has a long heritage of responsible innovation, investing in people and technologies that help build a better world for everyone, and addressing areas where we can have a direct impact.

As our partner in the WILDLABS Awards 2025, Arm is looking to discover new projects and partners in the conservation tech ecosystem that could benefit from their funding, technology, or pro-bono support. Through this program, Arm is looking to support projects with their ecosystem of technology partners. From Audiomoth, Raspberry Pi and Arduino, from wearables to smartphones, sensors to supercomputers, Arm powers the conservation tech sector.

These awards aim to find and support people and projects in our community that could use additional funding, mentoring, training, or technology to tackle meaningful conservation challenges.

Partnerships between conservationists and the tech industry take time and access to establish and manage. Through these Awards, we hope to help facilitate relationships between our community and tech companies that have made meaningful commitments, as Arm has, to conservation.

As part of your application, we will ask for details about the technology your proposal involves. Sharing the details of your technologies will help us understand how Arm can help your work and, if additional support is required, match you with other technology companies in their broader network.

To help you answer this question, you can find examples of Arm-based technologies here. Free educational resources, including online courses, can also be found here.
