FOSS Geospatial Tools Preview
I'm excited to share a preview copy of my Free and Open-source Geospatial Tools book. Accessing, processing, and analyzing geospatial data can be daunting, often hindered by data accessibility, compatibility, and cost constraints. Many geospatial resources, tutorials, and books are available, but most focus on specific tools, such as R or SQL, requiring coding skills. I wanted to create a resource to get conservation practitioners up and running quickly to use geospatial analytical tools anywhere and scalable from local to worldwide.
Feedback
The book is in its final stages of drafting and copyediting. I need your help with
- Noting any errors, especially where the code does not work;
- Suggesting editing suggestions or noting any unclear portions of the book; and
- Providing suggestions on any cases, examples, or resources.
Contact
Please go to the discussion page of the book's Github repo (or click the Github icon in the book's top right corner) to provide feedback. You can also download any chapter in pdf or md, mark it up, and send it as an attachment. I hope to publish the book by mid-July, so comments by 5 July would be appreciated. You can also email me directly at connor3089ut@gmail.com.
Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to your feedback.
