STEMLAB4Nature: Inspiring Conservation Through Tech &Education

STEMLab4Nature Program

Over the past six months, I continued building on the successes of STEMLab4Nature by expanding its outreach and refining programs to attract and inspire more children.  Through   delivered  conservation education, robotics, and STEM subjects  program in three secondary school  namely Kimanga, Benjamini and Mvinjeni Secondary school and to kids at our lab. There were increase of interest and participation of girls in robotics and conservation education.

Building Skills

Leveraging my experience with UNITAR , I worked to inspire and equip other youth and women in conservation and climate resilience fields.  I Participated in a country workshop to share insights from Japan and   introduce STEMLab4Nature’s role in education for sustainable development.  Further, II was selected by Women Creating Wealth program under Graca Machel Trust as among women who as contribution on climate change resilient in Tanzania

Research and PhD Preparation  

Building on my exposure to conservation technologies during previous workshops, I will use GIS and camera traps in my PhD project.  

Upcoming Plans 

-       Develop partnerships with  local conservation organizations to provide real-world exposure for students.  

-       Host a women and youth forum on leveraging technology for conservation-focused businesses

-       Created a foundation for future research that ties education, conservation, and technology into a single sustainable model.  

-       To ensure continued success for STEMLab4Nature and my other initiatives, I prioritized creating strong partnerships.  

-       Continue exploring collaborations with global conservation and education organization

Appreciation

I extend my deepest appreciation to ARM for the seed grant , and to WILDLABS, Flora and Fauna International, and the Grumeti Fund for organizing the Women in Conservation Technology in Tanzania 2023 (WiCT) program.   This program paved my   way towards conservation technology.
