At the Environmental Sensing and Modelling (ENVISION) unit, in collaboration between both the Biodiversity Monitoring & Assessment group and the Luxembourg Eco-hydrological Observatory (LEO), we have developed a camera that takes videos of insects for monitoring purposes (see DIMON project).
Your role will be to develop an application with which the camera users can analyse the videos recorded.
You will be mainly in charge of:
· Developing an application for analysing videos of insects with different existing AI models and an easy-to-use user interface in Python
· Comparing different AI insect classification models and data usages
· Possibility to create a better object detection model
· Engaging with the target users for understanding their needs, for designing the display of the results and for creating a splendid user experience
· Working in a team of at least one software engineer and one researcher
