Hi guys,
I wish to develop an app for the security personnel at working at airports, with a keen interest on ending wildlife trafficking, I discovered that a lot of wildlife when being trafficked and screened at airports, majority of the personnel don't have the correct information on identifying and knowing if that wildlife is legally allowed in a country.
The reasons being - Lack of proper training, no dedicated staff, to much workload, not knowing the laws, misidentification, or forged documents.
So, the app that I wish to develop is to tackle these areas, so that at least wildlife can suffer less, people can know how to care for them like what requirements should be there for their transport, if the documents presented are legal and any officer can identify any specie with accuracy and instantly to avoid further delays for a special officer to arrive or a person from NGO to arrive and help with custody.
So, how I wish for the app to work is to, whenever a suspected person is found, so the officer clicks a picture of the animal, through AI it identifies, and it gives the information about that species, how it should be transported and would give the details regarding the national and international laws relating to the species. It would also give alerts, regarding incoming flights from popular trafficking routes and destinations and show signs of what are the common places of wildlife being trafficked.
Lastly, forged documents are one of the most common ways, illegal wildlife being declared as legal, so I wish to collaborate with CITES so that whatever shipment permit they issue, an officer wherever clicks a photo it get verified directly and instantly.
So, although I might sound too ambitious I have no knowledge on app building or something like that, but just want to gather a team of like minded people if the project looks viable enough.
So guys, needs your comments and suggestions and those having knowledge in building apps can share your inputs.
Thank you.

Conservation X Labs is using the NABIT for similar work -

Within the African Wildlife Forensics Network many investigators, customs officials and the like use the IDentifyIT App for species, and now cycads. It is a continual work in progress but it helps with in situ morphological ID.

Not for ID but there is a "Wildlife Sentinel" app too. Great Idea by the way.
