What are Some Good Conservation Tech Graduate Programs/Paths?

Hi everyone!

I wanted to ask what are some schools (both in the US and internationally) that have good conservation tech programs or are able to do some type of concurrent masters degrees (engineering & conservation). Or if it makes more sense to get a masters of either engineering or conservation/ecology. If anyone knows of any good programs or recommendations, do let me know!

Traditionally, conservation tech very difficult industry to find a grad scheme for, mainly as most of the companies doing the best work are quite small! When I was looking for internships and grad jobs I found it useful to contact companies directly, and look for the ones doing interesting projects. That being said, there is also a lot of benefit to traditional grad schemes with larger companies. I went on a grad scheme in the space sector for a few years before pushing my way into conservation tech. If you do go for a more traditional role (not in conservation tech), then there are also so many open source projects out there looking for help that can be done in your spare time.

Good luck!

About a year ago, @emmahiggins  asked for feedback on a course design for a MsC on Conservation Technology at the University of South Wales. I don't know if that course has started in the meantime, but Emma's email is in her post.

UCL has an Ecology and Data Science Msc!

I went to University of Michigan for undergrad. I admired this graduate program in engineering sustainable systems. It's a dual degree through the school of nature resources and the college of engineering (for example, mechanical engineering department). You apply to both schools and if you get into both, you can get into this program.

Good luck!
