The WILDLABS Awards 2025 are wrapping up after receiving 252 applications for the 5 grants of $50,000 and 10 grants of $10,000 available. After the WILDLABS team reviewed 71 $10,000 applications, we forwarded 25 to Arm for final eligibility verification and selection. For the $50,000 awards, the leadership team at WILDLABS narrowed down the shortlist to 27 finalists, and right now a shortlist of 17 is being evaluated by the judges.
The judging panel is composed of 14 experts in the conservation technology sector, each with decades of experience in their field. Panelists represent a diverse spread of gender, nationality, and conservation technology specialisations to account for similarity bias during application review.
As described in the announcement article for the Awards, judges are reviewing applications based on four criteria:
- Application quality
- Perceived feasibility
- Team capacity
- Contribution to the conservation technology sector
Next week, the judges will make their final deliberations and will select the 15 awardees. Awardees will then be contacted, followed by an announcement to the general public.

Could be nice for the participants if there is a fixed date to release the list of the winners!
Like that participants don't need to check the mail/website various times per day since the lasts weeks to see if they are selected. Since is a important price, they are waiting for apply to other jobs or projects because will depend of the results of this contest.
Thanks for your understanding!

Or give dates when selected candidates are contacted. I understand that there will be a negotiation phase and therefore the list of awardees will not be known for some time, but a regular update on how many awards are negotiated and awarded would be useful.

Dear @Lot , dear @WMXZ ,
Thank you both for your comments. I (and we at WILDLABS) completely understand your situation, as we often find ourselves in the same position, waiting to hear back about proposals we've submitted. Please rest assured that we're doing our best to get this information to you as quickly as possible.
Today, the final deliberation for the 10k category will take place. Following that, we will reach out to all applicants -both awardees (in the 10k and 50k categories) and those not selected- so that everyone will be informed.
We understand the process may feel lengthy, but we've been actively engaged in judging throughout: eligibility checks, WILDLABS review, Arm review, final review by the judges, and now the deliberation phase.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Best,
Adrien
