I had the opportunity to attend great discussions around youth and children on assessing progress since the Africa Climate Summit.
Youth are keen on what actions are in place beyond advocacy and tree planting. Also a lot was shared on the many ways to conserve our environment.
More interesting was the children session where they ask to be part of the conversation and decision making. After all, it is their future home we are currently 'borrowing' and they are keen to see what we are doing about keeping it safe.
One young girl, Jada has some activities around cleaning the ocean and recycling the bottles they collect and many others present also had different initiatives.
The issue of funding is also key. Many youth have ideas and innovation that fail to grow die to lack of funds.
What's happening in your spaces around the same concerns of climate? And have you had a chance to look at the Nairobi declaration document?
