To promote awareness of different animal species, I made a simple app that generates your spirit animal and gives it a fancy name! Also, it’s been a great fun and exercise for my web dev skills.

The results can be absolutely unhinged, no filters or blocks applied.

I was surprised how easy it is to host your own AI-model on a PC and create a 1-page app.
Almost 0 expenses (minus electricity). Nowadays, there are services with free tiers generous enough to keep you running free forever, given small volumes.

Supabase for database, Umami for visitor counting, Vercel for web-hosting, Ngrok for server tunneling.

I am planning to write a simple guide on how you can create your own simple server+app in 1 evening.
