Want to install geospatial packages more quickly than conda? UV is a lightweight installation package that lets you rapidly install dozens of packages. Thank you to Quisheng Wu for 'discovering' this resource. This discussion is adapted from his Geography 312 course at UT Knoxville. This installation is via pip; please see the get started chapter if you want to adapt it specifically for Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Install uv via pip:

pip install uv

Create a virtual env:

uv venv

Install the geospatial package

uv pip install geospatial

And let uv do its magic

Then, when you're coding, import the needed packages

This is great, thanks for sharing Vance. It looks very comprehensive and includes geemap. Amazing! This will save a lot of time and headaches. Would be great to have some reviews of these packages in the Inventory at some point!
