Is there relation between Economic GDP and Geospatial tools?

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to get information about Economic GDP of places using geospatial tools such as remote sensing. And if there is, can I get the website where I can download such information.

Kindly,

Sarah.

Hi Sarah,

There are GDP datasets by country available. Here's one along with the Human Development Index that might be of use and another based on a wealth index. Both are in Earth Engine, but the citation may lead to other formats. BTW, GDP isn't remote sensed since it's economic data based on country. You might find datasets that are not spatially based that provide similar or additional data to GDP especially from the World Bank or similar economic institutions. Hope this helps!

Best,

Vance
