WWF's Education for Nature Fellowships and Grants are now open

There are six opportunities aimed at enhancing conservation science capacity, education and leadership in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Read on to learn more.

2024 Fellowship: Food Systems

The social, cultural, economic, and environmental dimensions of food systems and transformation at the national level 

The aim of the fellowship is to support individuals to develop evidence-based, innovative, and interdisciplinary research on food system transformation at the national level to build a better understanding of the country-specific actions that need to be taken to transform food systems to improve human health and foster environmental sustainability. 

2024 Fellowship: Current & Aspiring University Faculty 

The aim of this fellowship is to support current and aspiring university faculty that are affiliated with or currently employed at African, Asian, and Latin American and Caribbean universities to pursue doctoral degrees in natural and social science and other conservation-related fields. After completing a degree, the individual must enhance, expand, or support the development of intergenerational scientific expertise at a university in their home country or region.  

2024 Fellowship: Conservation Science Capacity and Leadership
Human-wildlife Conflicts in Uganda 

The aim of this fellowship is to support individuals pursuing a master’s degree with a research focus on developing solutions for human-elephant conflict around the northern border of Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda. 

Environmental and Social Impact Grant 

The aim of this grant is  to provide competitive financial support to teams and institutions working in Kenya, Tanzania, and Madagascar focusing on enhancing capacities to address environmental and social impact assessment capacity building needs with an emphasis on local communities and local practitioners.  

Alumni Grants 

The aim of this grant is to support #wwfEFN alumni to connect, develop, and sustain their conservation science capacity and leadership; strengthen relationships and exchange of knowledge, ideas, and innovations; and increase national, regional, and global collaborations. 

The Caroline Goldman Cassagnol Fellowship 

The aim of this fellowship is to support #wwfEFN alumni who enhance co-development of initiatives that amplify local ownership, ensure sustainability of solutions, and foster robust capacities to better address conservation and development challenges.
