During a workshop at the Grumeti Fund, I was introduced to various conservation technologies, including Arduino Uno. I found this particularly fascinating and decided to integrate it with conservation education and robotics. My aim is to cultivate a passion for science among children by offering interactive and engaging hands-on scientific experiments.
STEMLab4Nature
STEMLab4Nature, seeks to encourage more children to pursue science subjects, develop a love for nature, and appreciate conservation technology. At STEMLab4Nature, I provide innovative STEM and conservation programs designed to enhance children's skills and increase participation, especially among those from low-income families.
From Skill to the Market
The pitching skills and experience I gained during the workshop enabled me to be selected as one of 24 African women and youth by the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR), to represent Tanzania in the fields of conservation and climate resilience in Japan and funded by the Government of Japan. I am also included on the list of UNITAR mentors in Conservation and Climate Change. I am truly grateful to WiCT for this opportunity. Additionally, this session helped me secure a grant from ARM, which I used to support STEMLab4Nature.
PhD Journey Loading…….
Looking ahead, I am excited to pursue PhD studies, where I plan to utilize conservation technologies such as camera traps and GIS, which I was exposed to during the workshop. As a researcher, I will continue to incorporate conservation technology in my projects for sustainable conservation. I will also share my projects on various conservation platforms to inform others about the role of technology in conservation.
