Exploring the Potential of Synthetic Aperture Radar for Plant Conservation

Hi everyone

I have enjoyed attending the Variety Hour and learning about synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and the way it detect snares. This got me thinking about whether similar technology could be adapted to monitor plant species. Specifically, I wonder if it’s possible to design SAR or similar tools to serve as conservation tools for plants. For example, if a plant species is at risk of extinction, could such tools be used to track its recovery after conservation efforts are made?

I’m not entirely sure how this would work, but I’m interested in exploring whether technologies like SAR could be used to protect and monitor plants.

Thank you
