What are badges?
Badges are a new feature that allow WILDLABS members to earn or be awarded colourful rewards for activity in and contributions to the community.

How do you get badges?
There are two main types of badges available at launch: automatic badges and awarded badges.
Automatic badges are assigned to your profile based on account activity, such as posting, commenting, or reacting to content. Badges have different tiers that associate with certain levels of engagement—as you interact with the community more, you’ll have the opportunity to level them up over time. The system calculates new badge allocations every 3 hours, so don't panic if you don't immediately get your new badge.
Awarded badges are manually assigned to members. These badges are used to identify WILDLABS roles, like group curators, event speakers, WILDLABS staff, and more.
Click on the image below for the full list of badges included at launch and how to obtain them. More badges and badge levels will be added over time!

Where can you find your badge collection?
Your full collection of badges can be found on your WILDLABS profile page, on the left-hand side bar below your tabbed menu. You can also see other member’s collections in the same location by visiting their profile page. Hover over a badge to see the name and a short description.
All past activity and contributions from your account have been calculated when automatically assigning badges, so take a look at your profile to see what you have earned so far!
Customise how badges appear
Featured badges will appear in the author card at the top of your posts, on your member info card when leaving a comment, and on your card in the membership directory. Your 3 most recent badges will automatically be featured on your profile card, but you can customise how many badges you show and in what order they appear.
To change the order of how badges appear on your profile, simply click the cog icon next to “badges” on your profile page, then drag and drop them into the order you prefer.
To edit how many of these are featured on your member cards, just toggle the number of badges from 0 - 5 in the orange box. For example, if you set the number to 2, only the first 2 badges on your profile page would be featured on your member cards. You can feature a maximum of 5, and if you prefer not to feature any badges, you can reduce this number to 0.
Hide your badges
In addition to reducing the number of badges featured on your member cards, you can also hide any or all badges from your account entirely. Hidden badges will show as transparent to you when you’re logged into your account, but no other members except admins will be able to see them.
To hide or unhide a badge, simply click the cog icon next to “badges” on your profile side-bar, hover over the chosen badge and then click the eye icon in the top right corner of the badge.
We hope you enjoy this new feature! For any badges questions or feedback, please feel free to send me a direct message or send me an email - jake.burton@wildlabs.net
