About RISE by Grumeti Fund
The Grumeti Fund is a non-profit organization carrying out wildlife conservation and community development work in the western corridor of the Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania. Our vision is a world in which people and wildlife live together sustainably, forever. Grumeti Fund’s Research and Innovation for the Serengeti Ecosystem (RISE) is an applied research program which aims to develop and support research within the Serengeti Ecosystem and beyond.
Role Overview
The Research assistant will play a key role in assisting all graduate students with their fieldwork but also collect data for all research projects under RISE in collaboration with the other Grumeti Fund’s departments.
Required qualifications:
• A Diploma, a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (Wildlife Management, Wildlife Science and Conservation, Biology, Applied Zoology, Botany and related.) from a recognized University.
• Prior research experience involving independent field work in remote conditions will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrable interest in fieldwork and research activities.
• Be able to drive a manual vehicle, with off the road experience with at least one year experience and have a valid license (will be assessed during the interview).
• Fluent in Kiswahili and English
