Founded in 1958, The Frankfurt Zoological Society is an international conservation organization. The headquarters and zoo are based in Frankfurt am Main. The zoo was founded in 1858. They also have staff coordinating conservation projects in 18 countries. Worldwide, 440 colleagues work for FZS conservation projects with the common goal of conservation of wildlife and wilderness. They partner with local communities, conservation authorities, national park administrations, and other NGOs to support national parks and wilderness areas to achieve this aim.
