Some affordable tools for human-wildlife conflict mitigation include beehive fences, which deter elephants by leveraging their natural aversion to bees and also provide additional honey income.

Flashlights can also scare away certain species, particularly carnivores at night. For more information on flashlights, @nyangetamagesa has extensive experience with these methods.
