Hello everyone! For anyone interested in building an antenna for animal tracking, I recently created a lightweight, weather-resistant Yagi antenna. My previous antenna, made from a measuring tape, was too flexible and bent in strong winds—not ideal for outdoor conditions (not talking hurricanes, though!). I took inspiration from Arrow Antenna and Lotek designs and used ABS 3D printing, which I find affordable (especially for someone on a budget like me!). It has a 16x16 mm aluminum handle and is approximately 75 cm long, optimized for a 151 MHz frequency. This is just a prototype, and the SWR could still use some improvement.

I’ll keep you updated on the progress and plan to share a step-by-step building guide. Feel free to reach out with any questions or comments about the project—I’ll be back with more soon!
