We have been working on a macOS version of PAMGuard and it would be great if some folk here in the community would like to give it a spin before it's released. 

Just as a quick intro, PAMGuard is an open source bioacoustics software package that provides a no-code solution for running automated detection and classification algorithms on large acoustic datasets. It's a complex piece of software with a steep learning curve but very flexible and great for large-scale acoustic studies. 

We have a tutorial here with a step by step guide and fun example dataset with lots of dolphins, porpoises and even some military sonar (we think).

The latest MacOS build and installer is here. Note this will only work on Apple Silicon so you need an M1 processor or above. 

If you decide to have a go, please report any bugs to GitHub or just post them here. Even just making sure the program opens on non-development machines would be useful. Thanks!
