Hi everyone,
I am working in a national park where a local NGO is soon to be setting up a LoRaWan gateway mainly for monitoring animal movement and human activities in real-time with LoRa-GPS. Many of the commercial tags are too large for small animals (my study species is typically 1.5kg as adults and we want to aim for collars that are 2% or less).
Does anyone have any recommendations for commercially produced tags that we could use for integrating our data collection with their system (data sent from LoRa-GPS tags to a gateway -> EarthRanger -> Movebank/cloud storage). At the moment I would like a commercial solution because most of my time is taken up developing an ATLAS system in the field which is quite a bit of work itself.
I know Copernicus Technologies, Semtech, and AWT manufacture some small looking tags but I've no experience to say who the most reliable suppliers are. I also see many bird tags with solar which is probably not suitable for our species (little skinny weasel-shaped creatures)
Thanks v.much for any advice!
Laura
