Free Webinar by Nature FIRST: Bridging Ecology and ESG – Smarter Decisions with Knowledge Graphs

Working with biodiversity or ESG data often means juggling different sources, formats and frameworks. This free webinar from the Nature FIRST project looks at how knowledge graphs can help connect all that data in a more useful way.Whether you're building habitat maps, tracking species, reporting on environmental impact or planning conservation strategies, this session shows how smart data structures (including some AI applications) can support better decisions across sectors. You'll hear examples from real field sites in Europe, and get a look at tools designed to be practical, not just theoretical. Open to anyone working in conservation, research, ESG, tech, or policy. No deep tech background required.

Free Webinar by Nature FIRST: "Bridging Ecology and ESG – Smarter Decisions with Knowledge Graphs"

This session is for anyone working with environmental data who’s looking for smarter ways to connect the dots. Whether you're building models, working on conservation planning, or trying to improve ESG reporting, this webinar will offer something useful.

The Nature FIRST project will share how it’s using knowledge graphs to bring together different types of data – from species records to satellite imagery to ESG indicators – and how that’s opening the door to more meaningful AI-driven insights.

We’ll cover:

  • How knowledge graphs can help integrate ecological, spatial and ESG data
  • Why clear taxonomies are essential for accurate species and habitat tracking
  • How prediction models are helping reduce human-wildlife conflict (brown bears are the focus here)
  • How AI is being used to identify gaps and blind spots in biodiversity reporting
  • What it takes to get to ready-to-use, structured datasets that are actually useful on the ground

This session isn’t just for data scientists, but also for ecologists, field teams, consultants, and anyone who works with biodiversity data and wants it to go further.

There’ll be examples from different EU field sites with a demo and space for questions. If you’re curious about how to make the data you already have work better, this is one to check out!
