WCS welcome people from the conservation space to the next edition of ConsTech webinar series, where Sophalrachana Kong of WCS Cambodia will be presenting on the Patrol Planning with SMART and Remote Sensing at the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary in eastern Cambodia is a major biodiversity hotspot, however it faces significant challenges from illegal logging, poaching, and habitat destruction. The breadth of these challenges has made the integration of conservation technology into patrol planning crucial to combat these threats. The approach taken at the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary leverages tools such as Spatial Monitoring Tools (SMART), EarthRanger, and remote sensing to optimize patrol routes, enhance real-time monitoring, and improve response times to illegal activities. These technologies not only increase the efficiency of ranger teams but also support data-driven decision-making, ensuring better protection of the sanctuary's diverse flora and fauna. Our experience at Keo Seima demonstrates the impact these technologies can have in strengthening conservation efforts in ecosystems vulnerable to a variety of threats.

Hey Carly! I asked but apparently there is not registration email, just the one that goes to the team meeting. But anyone interested can email tlevens@wcs.org to receive an invitation! I'll include that on the post. Thanks!
