I have used the FLIR One Edge Pro for a few purposes and have found it to be a useful tool for collecting environmental data and for generating discussion with students (in a science teaching context).

The setup of the camera is easy to use, and I have seen improvements in the software in the time that I have been using it (i.e. it is actively updated).  I like the fact that it clamps onto my cell phone rather than connecting to the charging port like other options.

The thermal resolution is lower than the visible wavelength camera, but still within a useful set of values.   Being able to analyze the images with FLIR Thermal Studio is generally useful, and allows you to view the thermal and inrared image separately.

The FLIR ONE Edge Pro is very lightweight and opens a new field of thermal exploration. Saving the imagery directly on the smartphone improves a lot the workflow, also the ability of place the camera in a different position than the smartphone, even a distance of a few meters, allows new applications that could be complicated with other thermal cameras.

The battery longs for various hours and their USB-C charge allows for use all day long.

However, it also has some limitations, such as the inability to record video in the background (you always have to have the Flir ONE app active), and, at the time of writing this review, the app fails to record long videos of more than 5 minutes.

The possibility of programming apps for dedicated tasks is undoubtedly a great ability to assist in different scenarios.

It's true that has a limited resolution, but for certain works will be definitely the best camera of it's kind.
