Hi everyone,
I want to use this platform to spread the word about AfriMove, a collaborative initiative to share movement data collected from African mammals and a platform for related discussions.
AfriMove was established in 2016 following the same structure as EuroMammals and related groups, and currently holds data from 507 animals representing 13 species in 18 study areas through 12 research groups, totaling >20 million GPS points. This dataset can be used to study the same species across multiple systems, or to focus on particular species in certain environments.
All data are stored on the same platform and access is granted after permission is given by the data owner, who is then included as a co-author on the resulting paper. Ideas for publications are submitted as pagers and data owners then choose whether to contribute their data for the analysis.
If you have data to contribute or would like to access some data, please reach out to me ebennitt@ub.ac.bw. You can also follow AfriMove on Facebook and Instagram.
Thanks
Emily
